“It has recently been our great fortune to meet Paul Pondella of TREE KING.
We were challenged by a fallen 120 ft 80 year old Torrey Pine tree that was downed in a violent wind storm, soon to be followed by a devastating rain storm, along with flash flooding. Significant danger was also threatening, with the fear that one of the 30 ton stocks could roll into the building (an historical monument), now supporting the bulk of the tree.
Paul performed brilliantly in every way, organizing the impossible on New Years Eve.
Distinctly lacking in Paul’s articulate demeanor, was any reference to: “NO,”
“CAN’T,” “WON’T” or “NOT POSSIBLE.” Everything was possible and everything was achieved. He has great instincts and is one of those men who just "knows".
Paul and his very competent team arrived on the site with a 40 ton crane and fleet of trucks. He became the choreographer of a very intricate ballet. The 8 story high triple tree cluster was cut into recyclable lengths, fully honoring the spirit and respecting the “ancient soul” of this octogenarian.
Before sunset, the space had been cleared of all debris, the street was reopened, and all the neighbors were in awe.
Paul quickly became the hero of Beachwood Canyon.”

“Hi Mimi and please say hi to Xochitl for me. I would be glad to write a testimonial:
I found Tree King on line and called the number given and a “real” person, Xochitl, answered. I explained that I had 15 large full grown cypress that were dying that needed to be replaced and she immediately set up an appointment for a free onsite estimate. Paul Pondella, the owner, showed up at my house right on time and wrote me an estimate which I considered very reasonable for the amount of work to be done. Paul said that he would schedule the work to be done the next Monday and that he would send 2 or 3 crews to try and get the job done in one day in order to disturb my neighbors as little as possible. The crew showed up at 8:00am sharp, I showed them the trees and then I went to work hoping that my neighbor would not be calling me about the work being done so close to their property.
When I came home that night I was amazed to see that all 15 trees were gone and the 12 we had agreed to replace them with were planted and watered and the entire area, including the staging area in the street in front of my neighbor’s house, was cleaner than it had ever been before. I am more than satisfied with the work the crews did and very impressed with efficiency and follow through of the company as a whole. I have already recommended Tree King to a coworker and would recommend them to anyone looking for honest, efficient and very good landscape work being done for a reasonable cost. I have had other landscape work done by other companies in the past but Tree King is by far the best on all counts.
As a footnote, Tree King was the third company that I had contacted for this job. I went with Tree King because of their efficient office staff and, of course, the knowledge and efficiency of their owner and crews. I am very glad I did.
